New office to focus on Leith
A NEW council neighbourhood office is to be set up at Leith Library under a plan to plug a gap in services.
Local councillors have said that the spread of the area covered by the council services for communities department's north neighbourhood team is too wide.
And a new council report has identified that the library would be a "suitable location" for a new neighbourhood office to cover the Leith area.
The cost for work to facilitate the new office is estimated at 44,000 and work is expected to take three to four weeks to complete. Around 100 staff, who all provide services to Leith already, would be transferred to the office under the plan.
