New nursing home despite traffic fears
A NEW nursing home is set to be created in Edinburgh, despite concerns that it will cause serious traffic problems in the area.
Trinity Lodge have applied for permission to develop the new 48-room nursing home in the grounds of an existing home on Craighall Road, Trinity.
The existing nursing home would be refurbished as a private house, and the proposals would also see an old coach house, which is linked to the home by a modern extension, demolished.
New access roads would be created to the site, on Craighall Terrace and Craighall Road, in order to accommodate cars and pedestrians.
But local residents have said this will create a dangerous situation for drivers, and could create a hazard for pupils at the nearby Holy Cross Primary School.
However, Alan Henderson, the council's head of planning and strategy said: "The access and parking arrangements are acceptable."
