New leader to take helm at Event Scotland
VISITSCOTLAND today announced the appointment of a new leader at the national events agency EventScotland.
Paul Bush OBE becomes the agency's chief operating officer, VisitScotland chief executive Philip Riddle said.
Mr Bush has had an extensive career in sport as a coach, development officer and team manager.
Mr Riddle said: "Paul brings a wealth of experience to this important post. Scotland has gained a justified reputation as a fantastic location for events large and small, and EventScotland under Paul's leadership is set to develop this even further."
Mr Bush said he was looking forward to his new role.
He said: "I am delighted to be given the opportunity to lead EventScotland at this exciting time and build on the success of its first four years in which Scotland has become recognised as a major player on the international events scene.
"There are many exciting challenges ahead to ensure that we remain on target to achieve our vision for 2015 as one of the world's leading event destinations. I look forward to continuing to work with our partners to maximise the benefits that events can bring to Scotland."
