New Harry Potter film has a touch of horror

IT'S a far cry from the first Harry Potter film when the baby-faced wizard and his brand new wand first appeared on the big screen.

For these sinister-looking stills from the latest Harry Potter movie would not look out of place in a horror movie.

The hair-raising images have been released to coincide with the first broadcast of the movie trailer, which will be shown on British TV tomorrow morning.

The latest instalment in the evolving story of the boy wizard, is adapted from the books JK Rowling began writing in an Edinburgh caf. The first novel was published in 1997.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, part one, will be released in the UK on 19 November, with the second part in cinemas from 17 July 2011.

Heading the cast, Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson continue their roles as Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. Other famous faces set to feature include Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane, Ralph Fiennes, Richard Griffiths, Bill Nighy, Alan Rickman and Timothy Spall. Imelda Staunton, David Thewlis and Julie Walters will also appear in the films.

Harry Potter books have sold more than 400 million copies and the films have grossed 3.6 billion at the box office.

A theme park based on the brand was launched this month in Florida with reports of a coming Hogwarts attraction in the UK, at the Hertfordshire studios where the films were made.
