New group is looking after Edinburgh park life
A NEW community group is set to be formed in a bid to maintain a city centre park.
A meeting to establish the Friends of Gardner's Crescent will be held in Tollcross Community Centre on Wednesday at 7.30pm.
It will also be a chance to discuss future improvements to the park in Gardner's Crescent and speak to officers from the council's department of culture and leisure.
Councillor Kingsley Thomas said: "This association would take an interest in the general upkeep of the park and the wider Gardner's Crescent area.
"There would be advantages in having a properly constituted association to do this, as the association could apply for funding from different sources to improve the appearance of the park."
