New bullet testing to be used in US murder case

A NEW technique to find fingerprints on bullets pioneered in the UK could help solve a murder case on America's Most Wanted list.

John Bond, a scientific support manager at Northamptonshire Police and Honorary Research Fellow at Leicester University, has developed a method of "fingerprint visualising".

This detects where sweat has corroded metal on bullets, even where a print has been wiped off. It is hoped the technique will help solve a murder in Texas.
