A RARE baby hedgehog, one of 12 tiny tenrecs to be born at Edinburgh Zoo in recent weeks, rests on the hand of a keeper.
Two of the tenrecs, whose full name is Less Hedgehog Tenrec, recently gave birth - with one having three babies and the other nine.
The tenrecs are currently part of the reptile house which will be moved to make way for a groundbreaking chimpanzee exhibit called Budongo - the first of many new exhibits planned under Edinburgh Zoo's 20-year redevelopment plan.
But the public will have to hurry if they want to catch a glimpse of the new arrivals. They are going to be on show for one week only.
