Aisha rises to the occasion

A LIVINGSTON baker hopes to land her dream job after cooking up a storm to help mark the town’s 50th anniversary.

Aisha Elshani, 24, was selected to create the commemorative cakes for West Lothian Council’s celebration of the landmark year.

The goodies were served up at a tea dance and children’s art contest at the Howden Park Centre as part of celebrations marking 50 years since Livingston was designated Scotland’s fourth new town in 1962.

She said: “It was a great opportunity for people to see my work and I am very proud of the end result.”
