Needlework to build bridges

THE Skye Bridge is to be decorated with 500 metres of knitting and crochet to celebrate Highland Homecoming.

From 23-26 October the bridge will be adorned with work sent by needle workers from across Scotland and as far as China, Australia, the US and Europe, for Luban air an Drochaid (Stitches on the Bridge).

Organiser Fiona MacEwan said: "This project connects the West Highlands with the rest of the world."
