Letter: Change of tune

I CANNOT help but smile when I read the views of all the public-sector bashers who have been flooding your Letters pages. "It's not fair", "Slash the gold-plated final-salary pensions" (although Hutton didn't half dispel that myth) and "Let the public sector share the pain of the private sector" they cry.

When the private sector was booming for ten to 15 years, where were all these people shouting "share the wealth". That's right - the public-sector binmen, dinner ladies, nurses, care workers, etc were not in their thoughts. The silence was simply deafening.
