Natalie is second to quit jungle

NATALIE APPLETON today quit the ITV television show I’m a Celebrity . . . Get Me Out of Here!

The 31-year-old former All Saints star left early this morning, a spokeswoman for the show said.

The singer has endured a torrid time in the jungle camp and was left in despair yesterday after viewers voted for her to undergo a fifth Bushtucker Trial.

The spokeswoman said: "The celebrities can leave at any time. They have to say ‘I’m a celebrity . . . get me out of here!’, which is what she [Natalie] cried today."

She added that Natalie would remain in Australia until the end of the show, which is due to run until next Monday. Her sister Lee is understood to be at the camp.

Natalie’s walkout follows the departure of former East 17 singer Brian Harvey last week, who quit after a row with Janet Street-Porter over his flatulence.

Natalie had been due to undertake the "On Your Knees" trial - which was to involve getting covered in mud and slime as well as enduring yet more rats and insects to win meal tickets for the camp.

Her miserable failure to collect more than a handful of meals over the last few days has led to severe hunger among the celebrities.

The singer gasped as she heard she had been voted for the challenge.

"You have got to be kidding," she said. "I have nothing left."
