My little piece of Scotland

PEASE BAY is my favourite holiday place in Scotland. It can be found on the east coast, just south of Dunbar. It has a beautiful caravan park with a lovely beach. We always pick a caravan at the top of the bay so we can watch over the entire beach and far out to sea.

I like playing at the beach because there is a sand hill. I walk up to the top slowly and run down very fast. It is great fun. If you fall you don't normally hurt yourself because you land on sand. One afternoon when we were at the beach my dad spotted a seal only ten metres away from the shore. It was quite small, but we could see it clearly and the little seal wasn't scared of us.

There are always lots of surfers at the beach but it is never too busy and everyone seems to enjoy the sea. The beach is clean and tidy.

It is fun when my brother and I play at the rock pools, especially at night. Once we found a starfish with three legs, and it was amazing when we found some crabs as they were huge. Some nights I would go for a paddle on the beach with my dad.

When I'm with my friends we sometimes stand on the bridge near the beach and race sticks in the stream which runs to the sea. Pease Bay is also really good for riding your bike.

Every time we stay at Pease Bay we also visit Eyemouth, where we always get fish and chips at the restaurant beside the beach, and afterwards I play in the park with my brother.

Very close to Pease Bay is the Cove, which has a very rocky beach with a pier. It can be slippy on the rocks but it is a great place for finding shells. My dad noticed the Cove on a TV advert for a bank last year. More people might visit the Cove now because it was on television.

Pease Bay is a great place for families to go to. We are going again this summer and it will be great fun. I think all families should try a holiday at Pease Bay.
