My Edinburgh
Royal Lyceum assistant stage manager Zoe King recently spent an hour on the 4th Plinth in Trafalgar Square dressed as a princess, seeking a prince.
Any potential princes can contact her on pinktheatrebunny@hotmail.com
Date of Birth: 24/10/1981
If you had a time machine which Edinburgh concert would you relive?
The end of the Festival fireworks, the year they played Romeo and Juliet. The music was amazing and there were fireworks that exploded into pink hearts.
What is your favourite Edinburgh theatre?
The Royal Lyceum, my beautiful work place. We are currently preparing for a new adaptation of The Beggar's Opera . It has five tonnes of orange sand and is set in a wild, post apocalyptic future.
Who would you choose to headline Edinburgh's Hogmanay?
Blur. I missed their comeback tour and they were the music of my teenage years. They seem to have become even more attractive with age.
Name three regular haunts in the Capital that you could not live without.
Tigerlily, the most ladylike eatery, hotel and cocktail bar I have ever found; Eteaket, I've only just discovered this fabulous tea room with a classic twist; and the Blue Blazer, the Lyceum's friendly local, and my favourite pub.
Separated at birth: Edinburgh and. . .
A setting for fairytales. We have a castle, people live in turrets and the surrounding scenery is beautiful.
Who or what in Edinburgh inspires you?
I adore the architecture, the gothic Scott Monument and the beautiful houses. Edinburgh brings out the romantic in me - a perfect place for a princess to live.
Do you think the city is a friendly place to live?
It's very friendly indeed. I've lived in England and Wales but the Scots are the friendliest by far. Now I just need a prince in a kilt to sweep me off my feet.
Car, bike or bus - how do you get around town?
I used to be an avid bus user but now I find that walking is far faster.
Come August do you love the Festival or loathe it?
I love it 95 per cent of the time. As a theatrical person I love the atmosphere and the chance to see a myriad of wonderful performances. But I do tend to get a little annoyed at the long queues in the supermarket.
If you couldn't be in Edinburgh, where else would you rather be?
If I could speak French I'd move to Paris in a flash.
Princes Street or George Street?
George Street for eating and drinking and Princes Street for shopping.
If we elected our Lord Provost, who would you like in the position?
Billy Connolly, who wouldn't be happy with him at the helm?
What's the biggest change you've seen in the city?
All the new building and development, the Usher Hall has been completely re-developed and hopefully we'll get to see the finished product soon. I'm less optimistic about the trams
When away from home what do you most miss about Edinburgh?
I miss looking up and seeing beautiful things in everyday settings. Where else can you pop in to the La Senza underwear sale and see a castle as you exit?
Could you recommend a restaurant?
Brown's on George Street serves a huge and delicious Sunday roast - the best in town. Plus Tigerlily's is fabulous if you're looking for something decadent or romantic.
Name one attraction no visitor to the city should miss.
Most people never hear of the Camera Obscura but it allows you to see the city in a whole new way. It's like a magic trick; I always find it hard to believe it has been around for so many years. It lets you see what the people of Edinburgh are doing when they think no one's watching!
Sell Edinburgh to a stranger in no more than ten words.
Scotland's stunning capital - beautiful, modern, electric, it will enchant you.
Sky Arts will go live from the plinth every Friday at 7pm, on Sky Arts 1 HD (258) and Sky Arts 1 (256). Sky Arts broadcast a 24hr feed on www.oneandother.co.uk
