Music the food of love for honeymooners

A COUPLE on honeymoon will be among the music fans at this year's Hebridean Celtic Festival in Stornoway.

The event will include visitors from 70 countries, including Canada, Russia and Japan, when it takes place from 16-19 July. It has also attracted interest from China, Thailand, Vietnam, Israel and Lebanon.

The newlyweds are Catriona MacKenzie and Clinton White, of Dunfermline.

Catriona, who is originally from Point, Lewis, said: "We thought it would be a fantastic way to celebrate our wedding by timing it around the festival. We've bought season tickets for our wedding party and at least ten of us will be there when the main gigs begin. It should be a wonderful start to married life."

The festival is in its 13th year and stages events across Lewis and Harris, as well as in Stornoway. Last year it drew more than 15,000 people.

This year's acts include the Saw Doctors, Four Men and a Dog, Shooglenifty, Julie Fowlis and the Red Hot Chilli Pipers.
