A KILLER who murdered a friend and dumped his body in a suitcase in the Water of Leith has started a legal battle with his wife for jail conjugal visits – so they can have a baby.
Kevin Gibson, 34, and wife Louise, 32, are being funded by taxpayers after they were granted legal aid in their battle to be allowed to have sex in Addiewell prison in West Lothian, where they got married last year.
The couple are hoping to exploit controversial European human rights laws to win conjugal visits or IVF treatment.
Gibson is halfway through a 15-year sentence for murdering his friend, Timothy Wallace, in 2003
If the couple’s bid is successful they would become the first pair allowed sex visits in a Scots prison. The Scottish Legal Aid Board is funding the first stage of their court fight to start a family.
