Much Ado as Doctor Who pair reunite for Shakespeare
FORMER Doctor Who star David Tennant and his assistant in the show, Catherine Tate, are to appear together onstage for the first time in a new production of Much Ado About Nothing.
The Shakespeare comedy will be directed by Josie Rourke and open at Wyndham's Theatre in London's West End on 1 June.
The two stars play reluctant lovers Beatrice and Benedick, whose endless witty sparring threatens to keep them apart forever.
Meanwhile, two young lovers, Claudio and Hero, are to be married imminently despite the devious scheming of a resentful prince.
Tennant, 39, is a noted Shakespearean actor who has worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company. Tate, 42, is best known for her comedy sketch series and for starring alongside Tennant as the Doctor's companion, Donna Noble. She is currently performing in Alan Ayckbourn's Season's Greetings at the National Theatre.
