MSPs to hear case for Leith Museum again

THE campaign for a Leith Museum is to have another hearing at the Scottish Parliament.

Campaigners will again take their case to ministers tomorrow, when it is hoped they will win more support in their bid to create a permanent museum for the area.

The petitions committee will consider the case, which has been supported by the Scottish Museums Council, the city council and a raft of local celebrities and politicians.

The campaign chairman is Edinburgh North and Leith MP Mark Lazarowicz, while the patron is Sir Tom Farmer.

A spokesman for the campaign said: "There has been positive support from a number of organisations which were consulted."
