MSP quizzed over nursery closure vote
Midlothian council leader Derek Milligan has challenged comments by local MSP Colin Beattie over the closure of Woodburn Community Nursery, claiming he voted for the move in his capacity as an SNP councillor.
Earlier this month, Mr Beattie accused the Labour-led council of ignoring the wishes of the community.
Councillor Milligan said: "In light of Councillor Beattie's support and lack of opposition to council decisions on this matter I'd ask him to explain the apparent inconsistency.
"Recent press coverage gives the impression that Councillor Beattie is opposed to these decisions. However he did not vote against them in the council meetings he attended and voted for in the most recent decision."
