Motorist gets 21 months for mowing down 'naked butler'
A DRIVER who mowed down a man who worked as a naked butler outside a city nightclub has been jailed for 21 months.
Alexander Bogdanovic drove straight at John Wotherspoon in June last year following an earlier confrontation. Mr Wotherspoon, a male model, sustained a scar to his bottom forcing him to quit his job entertaining hen parties with the Butlers in the Buff firm.
Bogdanovic appeared at the High Court in Glasgow yesterday after being convicted of assaulting the 23 year-old to the danger of his life.
He tried to avoid going to jail by offering to sell his cars to help pay compensation to Mr Wotherspoon. But Judge Lord Bannatyne told the 25 year-old that there was "no alternative" to a prison term.
A trial had heard how tempers flared on the dancefloor of Edinburgh nightclub Lava and Ignite on 16 June last year and there had been a confrontation between the men. A fuming Bogdanovic sat outside waiting in his Volvo car and when he spotted the model later walking home, he drove straight at him.
Mr Wotherspoon told the court he had no memory of the incident and was left with injuries to his face, hand and bottom.
