grieving parents demanding a public inquiry over the Mortonhall ashes scandal have won backing from the Tories.
Former Lord Advocate Dame Elish Angiolini is currently investigating the matter in the Capital, but similar cases have now been uncovered in other parts of Scotland.
The News told yesterday how parents from the Mortonhall Ashes Action Committee had joined forces with counterparts in Glasgow to ramp up the pressure on MSPs.
Scottish Conservative leader Ruth Davidson MSP said: “We don’t routinely call for public inquiries unless there is a genuine need.
“I appreciate some investigations are already under way, but far more answers are required than are within the scope of Dame Angiolini’s investigation.”
