Morning Update: Killer Luke Mitchell mops up blood for prison job

CONVICTED killer Luke Mitchell has a job cleaning up blood in prison, it was reported today.

Mitchell, 19, who killed his girlfriend Jodi Jones in Dalkeith in 2003, is said to be called in to mop up after fights between inmates at Polmont.

He is reported to be taking part in a special "biohazard course" which lets him clean up dangerous waste, including bodily fluids.

Scots firm cuts air boarding time with phone technology

A MOBILE phone is now all you need to get through security and onto your aircraft, thanks to technology developed in Scotland which makes boarding passes a thing of the past.

According to a news story, the airline bmi has become the first in Britain to allow passengers to have a barcode sent to their mobile or handheld PDA instead of printing out the traditional slip. Passengers at Edinburgh Airport are already using the new system.

Cameron addresses Scots Tories after English by-election win

DAVID Cameron will today address Scottish Conservatives hard on the heels of the Tory party's win in the Crewe and Nantwich by-election.

He is expected to tell delegates the party is well placed to build support in Scotland.

No early release for jailed criminals

JAILED criminals will no longer be freed from prison under the discredited early release scheme it was reported.

First Minister Alex Salmond made the pledge amidst growing disquiet about rapists and killers being sent back onto the streets.
