Moguls gather for ‘summer camp’

SOME of the world’s most powerful business leaders met behind closed doors yesterday at the annual Sun Valley Conference.

Now in its 30th year, the gathering is known as the “summer camp” for moguls of the media and technology worlds, including Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and its chief operating officer Sheryl Sandberg, Rupert Murdoch, former Microsoft boss Bill Gates and New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg.

The conference is hosted by investment firm Allen & Co and has seen some of the biggest business deals have their origin, including Disney’s purchase of broadcaster ABC in 1995 and Comcast Corp’s 2009 purchase of NBC Universal.

The event, which ends today, is held at the Sun Valley Resort in Idaho.
