'Modelling agent' in indecent assault on teenage girl
A TEENAGE girl with dreams of becoming a model was indecently assaulted by a man who pretended he was an agent and got her to pose nude, a court heard yesterday.
Glyn Davies, 50, of Herd Green, Livingston, West Lothian, answered an advert the girl, 17, had placed on a website for aspiring models.
They exchanged e-mails, and he told her he had been a modelling agent for a number of years, and would not charge her for a test shoot. He said if things went well, he would pay for a professional portfolio.
The High Court in Edinburgh was told the girl agreed for Davies to go to her home in Livingston on 8 January, and she posed for him in her bedroom, agreeing to his requests to remove her clothing until she was naked.
However, as Davies asked the girl to move position on her bed, he indecently assaulted her.
"She immediately pulled herself away from him and scrambled to get her dressing gown on, telling him she had had enough," said the advocate-depute, David Young.
Davies left the house, and the girl reported the incident to the police. During a search of his home, officers seized computer equipment on which he had downloaded and stored around 3,000 indecent images of children.
Davies pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting the girl and taking pornographic photographs of her, and of possessing child pornography. The court heard he had a previous conviction in 1993 for gross indecency with a child, and had been jailed for four months.
Lord Brailsford deferred sentence until next month for background reports. He remanded Davies in custody.
