Mobile mast plan cut off
MOBILE phone giant Vodafone has lost its battle to build a controversial mast in a scenic part of the Lothians.
The company was initially told in July by West Lothian Council that it couldn't build the 3G mast near Linlithgow Palace.
Those who campaigned against the mast expressed concern when the company appealed to the Scottish Government to have the decision overturned.
But Holyrood planning reporter Philip Hutchinson described the application as "completely unacceptable" before dismissing it.
