Mission to China to build business links

Academics aim to build business and education links between Scotland and China during a visit to the country this week.

The British Council Scotland mission to Tianjin, east of Beijing, involves six universities.

It follows an agreement signed during a visit to China last year by First Minister Alex Salmond to foster greater links and investment. Tianjin, which has more than twice the population of Scotland, is seen as a growing centre for areas such as financial services, with its own new business district.
