A hillwalker who has been missing for three days in Glencoe in the Scottish Highlands has been named by police.

John King, 63, from the Bishopbriggs area of East Dunbartonshire, failed to return to his accommodation on Tuesday night.

Mountain rescue teams from Glen Coe and Lochaber along with Search and Rescue Dog Assocation dogs returned to the area of the Buachaille Etive Mor peak in Glen Coe in the Highlands this morning.

An extensive search of the area was launched on Wednesday with search-and-rescue teams, two helicopters and search dogs.

Mr King is understood to have been wearing a red rucksack.

Police have asked anyone walking in the area either yesterday or today who may have information to call them on 101.
