Prime Minister’s Questions can be a shambles, but it does give MPs the chance to question the leader on the government’s record, and the leader of the opposition is guaranteed his questions.
The third-last PMQs of this parliament took place on Tuesday – a good time, one would think, for the opposition to remind the government of its record in office.
But did Ed Miliband challenge the PM on welfare reforms, austerity, NHS reforms, defence – all massive issues?
To everyone’s surprise, he mentioned none of these, focusing instead on the TV debates in the run-up to the general election.
What a missed opportunity to speak up for the silent and suffering majority.
