Midwives step out for Susan
HEALTH workers have undertaken a charity walk to raise funds for a colleague.
Susan Brown, a midwife at St John's Hospital, suffered a stroke after giving birth last Christmas.
Although she is recovering slowly, fellow staff members at the Livingston hospital walked across the Trossachs to raise cash to help her recuperation further.
Jacquie Balfour, one of the walkers, said: "Costs quickly mount up: adaptations to the home, specialist equipment, counselling, childcare, as well as the day-to-day expenses of living with a new baby."
