MEP expelled by Tory party
A SENIOR MEP has been expelled from the Conservative Party after a row over its controversial new alliance in the European Parliament.
Edward McMillan-Scott is at odds with the party leadership over the decision to form a breakaway new anti-federalist grouping in Europe, but said he was "shocked" at the decision to expel him and would appeal against it.
The Yorkshire and Humber MEP has been outspoken about the Tories' new partners in the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) party, claiming the grouping's Polish leader has had "anti-Semitic, homophobic and racist links". He claimed that David Cameron was being "exploited" by Eurosceptics.
