Mental health costs revealed

MORE money is spent on mental health services in Edinburgh than almost any other part of Scotland.

Last year, the city council set aside 8.5 million for the issue, including a range of respite and support projects. That is slightly less than Glasgow's 8.9m, but is more per head of population.

The figures were revealed through a parliamentary question from Tory health spokeswoman Mary Scanlon.
