Mattress stolen after sex attack
A MATTRESS was stolen from the scene of a sexual assault on a woman in her home before the attack was reported to police.
The woman, 23, was woken by the intruder who threatened her with violence before sexually assaulting her at about midnight on Monday, in the Bridgend area of Perth.
Detectives said someone entered the property the next day, before the attack was reported to police, and stole the king-size mattress.
Inquiries have confirmed witnesses spotted someone carrying a large mattress during this time in the area, Tayside Police said.
Acting Detective Inspector Marc Lorente said: “I would appeal to members of the public who have seen this man or anyone carrying a large mattress during this time to contact us.
“Likewise, I would also appeal for any members of the public who have disposed of any king-size mattresses within the Perthshire area, between Monday 15 October and Wednesday 17 October to contact us.”
The man responsible for the attack was wearing a navy scarf, a dark beanie hat, a grey jumper and khaki waterproof trousers with a black belt. He was also wearing khaki boots and spoke with an English accent.
