Man admits firing air pistol at schoolchildren
A GROUP of terrified school children were left horrified after a gunman shot at them with an air pistol while they were on their lunch break, a court heard yesterday.
Glasgow Sheriff Court heard yesterday the youngsters, aged between 14 and 15, were returning to St Paul's High School in Pollok, Glasgow, when Graeme Crawford fired seven or eight ball bearings and hit one 15-year-old on the body. The 37-year-old then shouted: "Next time I'll get my real gun."
Crawford, now of Mulben Terrace, Crookston, Glasgow, admitted culpably and recklessly discharging the air pistol at the youngsters on 17 November last year.
Sheriff Martin Jones deferred sentence until next month for background reports when Crawford's defence lawyer Paul Sutherland will give his plea in mitigation.
