A MAN who plunged 20 feet through a roof in Gorgie has died in hospital.

Police confirmed that Ian Ross, 31, died after sustaining serious injuries to his head and torso having fallen through a garage roof in Gorgie on Sunday night.

Mr Ross was being pursued by police following an incident at Robertson’s Bar on Gorgie Road.

A police spokesman said: “Mr Ross has been treated in the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh but despite the best efforts of staff he passed away around 6.15pm tonight.

“Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding his death, including reports of an earlier altercation at a licensed premise on Gorgie Road.”
