A MAN is being treated for mild hypothermia after being rescued from the Water of Leith.

Two fire and rescue crews were called to the incident off Coburg Street, Edinburgh, at around 10.45pm last night.

Officers used a ladder to reach the man, who was said to have slipped and fallen into the water.

He was checked by paramedics and then taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment for mild hypothermia, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said.
