Man left with slashed face after attack by racist gang
AN ASIAN man had his face slashed with a knife after being attacked by a gang of white youths, police have confirmed.
The gang hurled racist abuse at the 34-year-old before attacking him in Glasgow's south side on Saturday night.
After cutting the victim, the three gang members fled south along Kilmarnock Road, police said.
The victim was taken to the Victoria Infirmary, where he was treated for a facial injury and later allowed home. Police said the attack was being treated as racially motivated.
Meanwhile, a 43-year-old man was stabbed in the face and body in an attempted murder in Govan.
Police said he was attacked at about 8pm on Sunday in a close at Bowfield Avenue, Penilee.
The victim was taken to the Southern General Hospital, where his condition was described as "serious but stable".
Detective Sergeant Greig Wilkie said: "We are unable to say whether he was assaulted by more than one person."
