Man held on explosives charge

A MAN has been charged with possession of explosives with intent to endanger life in Northern Ireland by police investigating dissident republican activity.

The suspect, 32, was detained in Coalisland, Co Tyrone, on Saturday following the recovery of an improvised device by detectives last Easter.

He is due to appear at Enniskillen Magistrates’ Court at some stage today.

It follows a series of searches in the South Armagh and East Tyrone area over the Easter weekend of 2011.
