Man found dead in Glasgow home was victim of violent attack, police confirm
A MAN found dead in his Glasgow home was the victim of a violent attack, police said today.
The 35-year-old was discovered in his flat in Glasgow's Shettleston area on Thursday afternoon.
A post-mortem examination was being carried out today to establish the exact cause of death.
A forensic team has been examining the property in Cockenzie Street and officers have spoken to neighbours in a bid to trace the attacker.
Police have also been checking CCTV footage from the area.
Detective Inspector Graham Cordner said: "At this time I can only confirm that we have found the body of a man, who has been the victim of a violent attack.
"Our inquiry is at a very early stage and we still have to discover how exactly the man died, and indeed formally identify him.
"I am keen to hear from anyone who was in the general area, and who may have seen something that was not quite right or saw someone acting suspiciously.
"Any information could be useful at this time."
