Man charged with murder

A MAN has appeared in court charged with murdering a frail pensioner.

Robert Simpson was found dead in his flat in Mayfield Drive, Armadale, West Lothian at 9pm on Saturday 6 October. The 67-year-old had been attacked and had suffered serious head injuries.

Keiryn Nisbet appeared on petition at Livingston Sheriff Court yesterday, charged with murder.

The 21-year-old, from  Armadale, made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody. He was committed for further examination and the case against him was continued until Tuesday next week.
