A MAN has been charged in connection with a suspected hit-and-run incident in Dundee in which an elderly pensioner sustained a broken pelvis.

The Tayside Division of Police Scotland launched an appeal for information yesterday after the 87 year-old female pensioner was injured after being struck by a car in Hospital Street, Dundee, near its junction with Strathmore Road.

A force spokesman said the driver of a blue BMW 1 series car had failed to stop after the accident and continued driving along Hospital Street towards Clepington Road.

A Police Scotland spokesman said today: “Police Scotland can confirm that, in relation to the hit and run which happened in Hospital Street, Dundee, about 7.42am on Wednesday, a 57 year-old male has been traced and charged with road traffic offences. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
