A 21-year-old man has been arrested in Edinburgh in connection with a series of incidents in Dundee last week involving an armed gang .
The Tayside Division of Police Scotland launched a major manhunt last week after three hooded men - two reported to be carrying weapons - were involved in two connected incidents in Balbeggie Street in the Douglas area of the city.
The first incident happened at 6.30pm last Wednesday night when a car and the window of a home in Balbeggie Street were damaged by three men. They had emerged from what is believed to be a dark-coloured car Vauxhall Vectra being driven by another man and run to a nearby address to bang on the front door. They then vandalised a car parked on the street, breaking its windows, and threw an object at a window of the house, smashing the glass. All three wore dark-coloured hooded tops with the hoods up.
Two men were later seen the same evening , carrying weapons outside the same address, before leaving a short time later in a silver people carrier-style vehicle.
A spokesman for the Tayside Division said today: “ Police Scotland can confirm that a 21 year-old Dundee man was arrested last night in Edinburgh by Tayside Division officers with support from local officers in connection with incidents in Balbeggie Street in Dundee last Wednesday.
