A 73-year-old man has been found dead in a loch in South Lanarkshire, police have said.

The pensioner’s body was pulled from the water at James Hamilton Heritage Park, in the Stewartfield area of East Kilbride. Emergency services were called to the scene at about 8:10am this morning.

There are no suspicious circumstances behind the discovery, police say.

A post mortem will be held in due course and the procurator fiscal will receive a report on the incident.
