Make time for some actors who give their all for Scotland
A Brief History of Scotland – We Done Loads! *** Sweet,Grassmarket SEAN CONNERY is God. While that may be old news to some here in Big Tam's home town, for the audience of A Brief History of Scotland it couldn't be clearer: Sean Connery, or at least a half-decent soundalike, is in fact God of Scotland, his presence felt throughout this buoyant little romp through history.
Starting with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden-burgh and moving on through time from there, it's debatable how much of the humour worked with the more international members of the audience.
To the performers' credit, despite many jokes falling flat, their undoubted enthusiasm often garnered at least a chuckle, and in doing their best in cramped confines, they gave their all for their country. Runs until August 24.
