Main line closed after train tragedy
A SECTION of track on a busy rail route was closed yesterday after a train hit and killed a person on the line.
The incident on the west coast line involved the First TransPennine Express 1pm service from Manchester Airport to Glasgow Central.
The driver of the train reported hitting a person two miles north of Oxenholme in Cumbria at about 2:35pm.
