Maggie's in a spin as she marks 20-year career on London Eye
Maggie Trotter, from Canonmills, is celebrating a 20-year career in which she has managed dozens of contracts over the years in her role as food and facilities manager with national firm Sodexo.
Maggie currently oversees projects worth 3.5 million to the business and looks after 21 contracts dealing with catering, security and gardening.
A party on the London Eye, which was attended by 100 long-standing employees, moved to Madame Tussauds for a lavish dinner, before a band performed.
Miss Trotter, who lives with her partner Brian, said: "I've always enjoyed the job because it's so varied. You never do the same thing twice and I've found it easy to change role within the company."
Miss Trotter, 44, began her career aged 17 after studying at Forrester High School. She took up the post of apprentice chef at Edinburgh University. She went on to be the head chef at the Royal Bank of Scotland, eventually working her way up to the top position with Sodexo in 1989.
Chief executive Aidan Connolly said: "This annual event is a great opportunity to show our appreciation for people like Maggie."
Betty Green, Peverel Retirement's House manager from Murrayfield View, has been voted Scotland's House Manager of the Year 2009.
Hard-working Ms Green, 59, has worked in the role since 2002 and has supported more than 76 residents during her time.
Nicola Brady, estate manager for Scotland, said: "Betty is a house manager superstar. She works well with the committee to ensure all activities run smoothly.
"She manages the development to the highest of standards and makes Murrayfield View a lovely place to live for residents."
Ms Green, who was born in Edinburgh, moved around throughout her life, most recently living in Perth and Glasgow before settling back in Edinburgh seven years ago.
She is currently living in the Murrayfield View retirement complex.
On hearing she had won the award, she said: "I'm thrilled, particularly as it was the residents who voted for me."
