Madonna arrives in Malawi amid adoption row
Air traffic controllers say Madonna's plane has landed in Malawi, where she is expected to begin proceedings this week to adopt a girl as her second child from the impoverished African country.
The controllers spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorised to discuss the matter with reporters.
Madonna adopted Malawian-born David in 2006. The girl Madonna is hoping to adopt now is about 4 years old and her unmarried mother died soon after she was born, a welfare official and a person involved in the adoption proceedings have said. They also spoke on condition of anonymity because the case is considered sensitive.
