Madeleine hunt costs hit £745k
BRITISH police have spent nearly three quarters of a million pounds looking into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, new figures show.
Yesterday, Leicestershire Police said the costs of their part in the search for the missing girl for 2008-9 added 196,756 to the figures for 2007-8 – taking the total to 745,233.
Some of the cost has so far been reimbursed by a Home Office grant of 525,069.
Kate and Gerry McCann say they will believe their daughter is alive until given clear evidence to the contrary, and continue to search for her.
