1 Dunbar's Close Garden, Canongate It's amazing to find such a tranquil spot just off the Royal Mile, and I love the views of Calton Hill from there.
2 Arthur's Seat You definitely feel like you've earned the picnic by the time you reach the top!
3 Blackford Hill It's usually quite quiet, and there are lots of nice flat grassy bits near the top for a picnic.
4 Portobello Beach I love going there on a sunny day, then buying an ice cream on the Promenade.
5 Princes Street Gardens It's great to sit outside and have lunch there when you're out shopping.
