Lothians hit by illness
NEARLY 100 infectious diseases occurred in the Lothians in the last week.
Figures have shown that, not including flu, there were 99 examples of various conditions monitored centrally by Health Protection Scotland.
Among the cases were 77 instances of chickenpox, 18 cases of food poisoning and two incidents of bacillary dysentery, a water-borne disease.
