Lothians flu cases halved
CASES of flu across the Lothians have halved in the last week, according to latest official statistics.
Information released by Health Protection Scotland shows that there were around 300 incidents last week, comparatively less than many other health board areas.
There had been a feeling among health chiefs in the Lothians that the area had escaped relatively lightly this winter.
But in the second week of January cases began to rise again, prompting NHS Lothian to issue instructions to GPs to remind at-risk people, such as asthmatics and diabetics, to get immunised.
