Lifeboat man injured in fall

A MAN was taken to hospital after the lifeboat he was working in fell from its parent ship into the water below.

The 36-year-old had been aboard one of the ship's tenders when it plunged 25 feet, leaving him stranded.

The vessel was anchored at Leith's Imperial Dock when the incident took place on Saturday at 11.10am.

A spokeswoman for the fire service said: "The line rescue crew got him on a board and brought him in, where he was put in the care of the ambulance service. I believe he was suffering from lower back injuries."
